Lambruscone
A hearty, rustic, but old-school style of Lambrusco made from one of the more punchy grape varieties in the family called Grasparossa. Don't get it twisted — real Lambrusco is dry; it should be refermented inside the bottle, not injected with CO2; it's far more characterful than what we've been drinking in cheerful Italian-American restaurants for decades. Don't look for it just for bubbles, either; it's meant to pair with main dishes. Il Folicello is from around Modena, where it's a touch warmer; as such this wine has darker fruit, dried herbs, and a note of the rocky, limey soils on which it's grown.
Folicello
Folicello is the brainchild of Antonella and Marco, who started the winery in the 80s. The estate is located in Castelfranco Emilia, near Modena, Emilia-Romagna region and it's certified organic.
Antonella and Marco in the ’80, when they began, it was almost fun, they intended to produce a wholesome glass of wine for themselves and for some friends of theirs. Today their farm is endowed with a new small but efficient cellar, where they make wine with the grape they pick in their vineyards, and with a laboratory where they produce jams and other products made with grape, all organic.
They have lived in the countryside for a great part of their life, learning to appreciate its value and discovering the potentialities it offers, above all in the quality of life. Their lifestyle is due to their desire of discovering and sharing with their customers the big value-added of a biological vine-growing and wine-producing production of a qualitative high-level. When they began, organic products were a bet, nevertheless, they have based their farm on that.
For some years their daughters have joined them in this fantastic adventure proud of carrying on the family tradition.
