A new producer for us whose first vintage was only ~4 years ago, La Maison des Saules (The House of the Willows) is comprised of a young winemaking couple with sommelier backgrounds in Valence before their separate winemaking apprenticeships with Tommy Pico & François Rousset-Martin. The wines follow on, stylistically, from what you might imagine a fusion of these two teachers might look like - which is to say - outstanding!
From the small village of Chille, though the grapes are cultivated in Villeneuve-sous-Pymont in the Central Jura. Grapes are hand-harvested, directly pressed, and spontaneously fermented and aged sur lie for 12 months.
