Co-ferment of 50% Merlot and 50% Petit Manseng grown at Rocklands Farm Winery, Poolesville Maryland. 12.5% abv.
Fruit picked together on September 7th, 2023. Destemmed into concrete egg for initial fermentation and skin contact of 5 days. A light foot crushing was done. The free run juice of the egg was transferred to glass on day 5 where it continued to ferment and age on the lees until late December 2023 when it was bottled.
34 bottle production. No additions used at any point.
Bottle is crown-capped intentionally although this is a still wine with a whisper of gas at opening.
